Arden's Adventures:
Winter Beverage Delights

Cold Brew Candycane storefront

As soon as Thanksgiving rolls around, I look forward to indulging in warm beverages on long winter days. Even though we haven’t experienced a real NYC snowstorm in a few years, I still crave wintertime drinks when the temperature falls. I derive great pleasure from decadent hot chocolate, calming herbal tea, and spiced hot apple cider.

Since I am not a morning person and have a packed schedule most of my beverage purchases near Spence occur during collab, lunch, or after school. Some of my favorite places nearby include:

Glace by Noglu (1266 Madison Avenue at East 91st Street)

Glace is a gluten-free ice cream cone lover's paradise outside of winter months. Recently, I noticed super long lines down the street and discovered people standing in line outside the small shop eager to try the offerings which include bruleed hot chocolate. Since the business went viral on social media, tourists have been flocking to sample the delicious s’mores hot chocolate with a blow-torched marshmallow halo.

Blank Street (1225 Madison Avenue at East 88th Street)

Blank Street locations have popped up all over New York City. Sometimes it is worth making an exception to the hot beverages in winter months rule with a cold coffee drink from Blank Street. To kick off the holidays, the company brought back its minty candy cane cold brew. The house-made syrup gives the customer an extra flavorful burst to start their day.

Enjoy wintertime beverages!
